Mamaroneck Shares Update

Special thanks to our parents and student volunteers who helped us last night for the 1st of 4 nights for the 2012 Mamaroneck Shares summer street party event. The nights was a huge success and we were able to raise money for the event through our raffle of a FREE MONTH MEMBERSHIP with all proceeds going to Mamaroneck Shares.

Mamaroneck Shares 2012

Way of Life Shotokan Karate is committed to giving back to the local community in which we operate and live.  We are proud to announce that we will be participating again this year in the 2012 Mamaroneck Shares summer street party charity event.


Dates for the four night event this year are June 21st, July 19th, August 16th and September 21st.   This event sees the main street of Mamaroneck closed each night from 7-11PM and has local businesses offering events to raise monies for local charities.  This year the supported charities include:


1. Mamaroneck Emergency Medical Services: To help MEMS obtain a new ambulance.
2. keep aBreast: A local team supporting the fight against breast cancer.
3. The Westchester Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk: a local team raising awareness and funds to support research efforts of this deadly, yet severely underfunded, disease through The Lustgarten Foundation where 100% of every donation goes directly to research – Research is hope and hope never quits!
4. The Mamaroneck-Larchmont Student Aid Fund: since 1937 has helped Mamaroneck High School graduates with college scholarships. Each award is based solely on a family’s financial need and on available SAF funds.

Mamaroneck Shares Update

We are proud to have participated for the first time in the 2011 Mamaroneck Shares event.  A special thank you to both the event organizers and to our student/parent volunteers.  We raised over $150.00 for the associated charities through our raffle for several free month long memberships at our dojo with all proceeds going to Mamaroneck Shares.  We look forward to participating again next year, and thank you for your support if you attended the event and stopped by our booth.  Here are some of the photos that were taken over the 4 nights.
